Kevin O’Brien , Doctor of Physical Therapy
Kevin O’Brien, PT, DPT completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. He continued his graduate work at The Sage Colleges where he received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT). His clinical affiliations afforded him the opportunity to travel from Albany, NY to Portland, ME while treating patients in a variety of settings across the continuum of care; including acute medical care, sub-acute rehabilitation, and outpatient orthopedics.
Kevin is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and his clinical interests include general orthopedics, sports medicine and injury prevention. Kevin has a special interest in shoulder rehabilitation and has taken several continuing education courses on shoulder impingement, rotator cuff pathology, and thoracic outlet syndrome. He has additionally received further training in the McKenzie Method for low back pain, Evidence in Motion’s manipulation and treatment of lumbo-pelvic disorders, and the application of therapeutic taping. He is currently taking numerous online continuing education courses as he pursues a certification as an orthopedic specialist.
Kevin is passionate about the promotion of health and wellness in the community, and actively participates in several local community events. When not in the office, Kevin enjoys hiking, canoeing, ice hockey and spending time with his fiancee and labrador retriever.
