Rich Long , Doctor of Physical Therapy
Richard Long, PT, DPT is a graduate of Northeastern University where he completed both his undergraduate bachelor in Rehabilitation Science as well as his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT).
Throughout his schooling, Richard worked in a variety of settings with a variety of patient backgrounds. His focus has been on outpatient settings but he has experience in hospital and skilled nursing facility settings as well. These environments gave him insight on various musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiopulmonary, developmental and surgical populations. Growing up participating in sports and exercise while balancing a love for comics and video games, Richard understands the importance of staying movement and active to achieve one’s goals. This led him to develop a strong exercise based treatment approach that focuses on developing the connection between body and mind. While working for Elliott Physical Therapy, he has had the opportunity to see a wide variety of injuries, surgeries, and impairments with a wide spectrum of demographics as well.
Richard grew up as an avid comic book and video game fan who continues these passions into his current life. Drawing inspiration from the characters and stories these mediums told, he also found his love of movement and fitness which drives his motivation for Physical Therapy today. He also enjoys martial arts and wrestling as he grew up participating in these things throughout his life.
Rich is currently treating patients at our Dorchester clinic Monday through Friday and can be reached via email@example.com and via phone 617-506-7210.
