Kristie Averill
(PT)
Kristie Averill attended the University of Vermont where she received her BS in physical therapy in 1994. After practicing in several different settings including acute and sub acute inpatient and outpatient private orthopedic practice, she went on to receive a post professional MS in physical therapy specializing in adult and pediatric neurological rehab in 1999.
Kristie now has over 30 years of experience. She is a certified early intervention specialist for children with motor delays ages 0-3 with a specific interest in torticollis. Kristie is trained in NDT, as well as myofascial and cranio-sacral release, which she often incorporates into her treatments.
Kristie is also a certified yoga teacher and has developed yoga programs for both kids, adults and athletes at a local high school. In addition to pediatrics, Kristie has a strong interest in providing physical therapy for women at various stages of life including perimenopause and menopause. She understands the unique needs of this population and feels strongly about supporting them to continue to be healthy and as active as they desire.
Kristie uses a collaborative approach to all assessments, treatment planning, and hands-on care. The patient, family, and other specialists all work together which results in best outcomes.
Kristie enjoys being active herself in her free time. She often can be found walking, biking and hiking with her husband on Cape Cod.
You can find her treating at our Needham clinic as well as offering PT services onsite at Fitness Unlimited in Milton!
