Rebecca Finney

(PTA)

Rebecca Finney is a Physical Therapist Assistant at our Dorchester location. Becca believes in the power of local connections to build more resilient communities, and she is honored and grateful to be working in the same Dorchester community where she currently lives.

Becca came to physical therapy by way of a long career as a physical theater performer and educator. Seeking to expand her understanding of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology so she could better support the communities she served, Becca returned to school and earned her license as a Physical Therapist Assistant from North Shore Community College.

She has experience working in orthopedic outpatient and skilled nursing settings with patients of all ages, genders, religions, neurotypes, physical experience levels, and cultures. Her approach to treatment prioritizes attentiveness to each patient’s individual circumstance and education that increases patients’ physical agency and autonomy. She also has a personal interest in helping artists across disciplines build more sustainable practices through greater body literacy.

When she is not treating patients, Becca serves on the Movement faculty at Emerson College and continues to create and tour original works of theater with a devised theater company she co-founded. She is also a proud cat mom and avid crafter, working primarily in wood and fabric.
