Physical therapy is a medical, hands-on approach to relieving pain and restoring function. Physical therapists are medical experts in musculoskeletal and neurological conditions and work closely with physicians. Our physical therapists evaluate your movement patterns, identify the cause of your pain, and work to eliminate it. While every patient’s condition and pain is unique, your physical therapist will use a variety of gentle hands-on techniques, exercises, and equipment to relieve pain quickly and restore your function to optimum levels. The overall goal is to restore pain-free mobility and function and to prevent the injury or pain from recurring.

Yes, your physical therapist will prescribe you exercises to work on at home based on the findings during your initial evaluation and they will gradually progress them as you advance throughout your plan of care and reach your goals.

Yes, we have private treatment rooms at our Dorchester, Easton, Hanover, Hingham, Mansfield, Needham and North Attleboro clinics. At all of our locations, we also have dividers that we can put in between treatment tables when increased privacy is requested or needed.

Our therapists perform variations of soft tissue mobilization and manual techniques to address soft tissue dysfunction, trigger points, myofascial restrictions; however these techniques are always combined with other techniques to maximize recovery and maintaining outcomes.

Most insurances do not require a referral, also known as a prescription/script for PT. There are some plans that do require a script, it just depends on your specific insurance plan! We can assist you more when we know the details of your specific plan.

There are a few insurance plans that do require a PCP insurance referral/authorization in order for your visits to be covered. Please give us a call and we can go over the specifics of your insurance plan.

All plans vary in terms of the coverage for physical therapy. If you call into any office and provide your name, DOB, and insurance type/ID# we would be more than happy to have our insurance verification team get back to you with the details of your plan. We also strongly encourage all patients to call their insurance company directly to inquire on your benefits.

Yes! We can save your card information in a secure way and use that card each time you come in for your PT visits. We can go over the specifics of this during your first visit with us.

Cash, checks, all major credit cards, FSA/HSA cards. Some plans do have HRA where payment will come directly from the plan and we do accept that as well.

Our team will evaluate your symptoms, discuss your options for treatment and work with you and your doctor to help determine if physical therapy is the right choice for you. Contact Elliott Physical Therapy today, our front desk team is happy to answer any additional questions you might have.

As a patient you have the right to receive physical therapy at any place you choose. At Elliott Physical Therapy, you will receive the highest quality care while achieving the results you need. We pride ourselves on providing a positive, encouraging environment with well-trained, friendly staff. We are confident in our ability to help you reach your goals and live a pain-free life.

Our scheduling is easy and we offer a convenient location and appointment times for you. We have morning and evening appointments available to meet the demands of your busy schedule. Call or click here to request an appointment

Please have your prescription and insurance card available when you call. This will allow us to verify your insurance benefits and provide you with an estimate of coverage.

To bring on your first visit:

  • A prescription (if needed) for physical therapy from your referring physician, ARNP, or PA.
  • Insurance information (we will make a copy of your card).
  • Print out the patient forms, fill them out, and bring them with you.
  • In case of an automobile accident or worker’s compensation claim, also bring any case manager or insurance adjuster contact names, phone numbers, and claim number.
  • Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete any remaining paperwork, so you can maximize your time in your evaluation.
  • Please wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your problem areas.

We understand that there may be times when you have a scheduling conflict or illness; however, we do require advance notification (at least 24 hours) if you need to cancel your appointment. Less than 24 hours notice does not give us the time to make necessary adjustments to schedules and offer treatment to other patients who may be on our waitlist. Therefore, if you call within that 24 hour period to cancel, you will be subject to a $25 cancellation fee.

If you do not call at all, and do not show up to your appointment, you will be subject to the same $25 fee.

Maintaining the schedule of your prescribed plan of care is going to help you move better, feel better and reach your personal goals sooner!

Physical therapy is not meant to hurt, but to relieve pain. However, as you restore your mobility, pain levels, at times can fluctuate. You might experience some temporary soreness from using muscles that are weakened or recovering. This is a normal response to therapy treatment. Good communication with your therapist will help minimize any discomfort. We want you on your way to quick pain relief and back to normal activities.

We accept all major insurances. Coverage varies based on the specific plan that you have, but in many cases your physical therapy visit will be fully covered or require a small copay. Our office will be happy to assist in contacting your insurance company and determining your coverage based on your individual policy. For more information, visit our insurance plan page and please do not hesitate to contact our office. We do offer other payment options for your convenience.

For patients who do not have insurance, we offer a self-pay rate due at the time of service.

We accept Apple Pay, cash, check, debit card, and credit card. We are happy to discuss payment plan options as well. It is our policy that payment is made at the time of service. Your insurance benefits will be determined before your first visit, and you will be informed of what, if any, payment is necessary on that date.

Dress comfortably with clothes that allow easy access for the therapist to examine your problem areas. For treatments, loose fitting clothes that are comfortable for gentle exercises and supportive sneakers are often good choices to wear.

Typically, the first session lasts for 1 hour. Each session after that may be 30-60 minutes. The amount of time will be based on your specific needs, and your therapist will discuss this with you.

Each patient’s diagnosis is different, so together with your referring physician, your therapist will develop a plan of care that is right for you. Your plan of care and number of visits will be determined during your first visit and explained to you by your physical therapist.

At Elliott Physical Therapy all of our PTs are Doctors of Physical Therapy, which includes 7+ years of education, clinical rotations and hands-on experience.

Yes, we believe in the continuation of care. Scheduling an Annual PT Visit is strongly recommended, even once you’re back to the activities you love. We will still check in and see how things are going and offer to help with any new problem areas that may have arisen.
